alekstwo’s use of foley sounds on his amazing EP, “tekashi”, that released early this year, is a perfect touch that gives the entire project an edge.
Foley is something we hear everyday. It’s a door opening, a pencil on paper, the sounds of a city or park. Foley is atmospheric and can be used in amazing ways to create a level of diversity in musical production. alekstwo’s way of using foley is perfect. On his most recent EP, on tracks such as “demons” and “columbidae” alekstwo uses foley to nearly tell a story and set a scene for the song. The little added touch of an atmosphere being present gives the listener the representation of a place or a setting that the song sits in. As we wait for more music from him, this EP will definitely keep us company until then.
