A star-crossed partnership between California Rappers Adonis Alias SoupBone (AASB) and M.E. NotApologetic has led to a whole discography of new music. The two artists have each brought their own experience to the table and collaborated to create their latest project, ApoSTGles.

Though both musicians frequent the California Rap scene, they met in a far different place. AASB described the beginning of their partnership. “We’re both Ruff Ryders. We were both riding motorcycles out here in California and that’s how we met. It was actually through that affiliation that we discovered that we both had a passion for music. From there, he [M.E.] had a song that he offered me to write on, so I took him up on that and he really liked it.”

While alone, both are amazing artists, the collaborative efforts of AASB and M.E. lead to something that is completely its own. M.E. discussed the way that their style fit together. “When we make tracks together, our music is harmonic and melodic and very bluesy. Adonis has been in the music game for a long time and he is more than just a rapper. He’s an artist. I consider myself to be a poet and a lyricist.” The pair seems to be perfectly matched, pushing and pulling each other in order to get the best final product.

The project that AASB and M.E. have been working on most recently is their collaborative EP, ApoSTGles. Featured on this project is their latest single “Sir Paul.” AASB explained how the song began. “Masada sent the beat and I pitched my idea of writing a song about Paul McCartney. He liked the idea and so we went to work paying homage to Sir Paul. I was introduced to The Beatles because I am a fan of Michael Jackson and his fascination with them made me curious about their music. I wanted to pay homage to him because I think he is a legend.”

Aside from this project, AASB and M.E. are working on several other amazing projects. M.E. is putting out a new album of his own and both artists are continuing to grow their craft. AASB stated, “I am really just looking to get my music out there and enjoy myself as I do that.” M.E. has goals of growing as both a person and a musician and really redirecting the energy of the world around him into something truly great.

Both musicians are extremely grateful for the people that have helped them to get where they are today and continue to do so. They are especially thankful to their friends, family, producers, videographers, collaborators and everyone in between.
