Following the release of her debut single “Wootie Woot,” A1 La Flare (TikTok: @A1LaFlare | IG: @LaFlareA1 | TW: @A1LaFlare) delivers the official music video for the Dr. Luke & Rocco Did It Again! produced track. The colorful clip personifies the Georgia-grown Grammy-nominated triple threat’s success, which includes co-writing smashes like Saweetie‘s “Best Friend,” Latto‘s “Big Energy,” and The Kid LAROI‘s “F*ck You, Goodbye.”
Within the first two weeks of release, “Wootie Woot” has landed itself on some of the premiere playlists for emerging artists, such as “Fresh Finds HipHop” (Spotify) and “New In Hip Hop” (Apple) as well as garnered noteworthy press from culture forward outlets. One can only imagine what Billboard bound bops of her own are on their way for 2022.
Speaking on the record’s origins, A1 explains:
“Wootie woot is just a slang word we use in the city. It basically means so on and so forth. For example, when you’re telling a story instead of mentioning every detail you’d use wootie woot as a bridge to get to the more important parts.”
Peach State prodigy, A1 LaFlare was raised in Georgia by a registered nurse and preacher. Though she was already creating her own songs towards the end of junior high school, it was rapper turned executive Gucci Mane that ignited her desire to seriously pursue music as a career. Sighting him as her biggest inspiration, the “LaFlare” at the end of her moniker was derived from his nickname; while A1 was given to her by family and close friends.
