It is no secret that rapper turned actor and film producer 50 Cent was a fan of up and coming rapper, Pop Smoke. In fact, Pop’s flow and cadence have drawn many similarities to an early 50. Now, 50 is looking to pay homage to the fallen star.
In a recent Instagram post, 50 revealed that he is now on a mission to carry out Pop’s legacy by completing the late rappers unfinished project.
“I’m on the move listening to Pop smoke, I decided I’m gonna executive produce and finish his album for him,” 50 captioned a photo of him sitting outside of a private jet.
He further revealed that he is also looking to Cali superstar Roddy Ricch to help him carry out the project.
“Tell @roddyricch i’m looking for him, i need him on Pop album.” he captioned another photo.
Pop Smoke’s murder remains unsolved following a home invasion in Hollywood Hills last month, although theories of an inside set up have circulated since his death. His family recently put out a statement, asking the media to refrain from reporting unconfirmed information.
“Unfortunately, there are no public details available regarding the murder of our loved one. We ask for respect and responsible reporting during this critical time. Inaccurate reports only add unnecessary pain to a grieving family.”
