Wilmington, DE Community Leader & Veteran R&B Musician, Fred Reed Shares Powerful “Breathe” Music Video

A Wilmington, DE community leader and veteran R&B musician, Fred Reed is here to take a stand against the many racial injustices we have seen this year. Alongside his wife Cora, Fred has established his award-winning, non-profit youth organization Reeds Refuge Center as a haven from violence, drugs, guns and idle minds by helping youth to discover their creative potential. Recognized by NBC Philadelphia, RNB Philly, Delaware Today, and more, Reeds Refuge offers everything from dance and culinary classes to opportunities for kids to learn how to record music and create custom clothing.
Earlier this year, Reeds Refuge Center shared their “Breathe” music video, brought to us by their Safe City Project initiative. The #SafeCityProject initiative promotes and fosters an anti-violence message. Encouraging children to make positive choices in their everyday life, Reeds Refuge works to equip them with the resources and knowledge needed to resist peer pressure.

With Breathe,” Reeds’ Refuge hopes to inspire change, through amplifying and protecting Black voices, especially the youth, during the ongoing fight against racial injustice. Directed by Ethos Create, Fred Reed leads “Breathe” weaving in and out vocally with the children and staff of the Center.
