Rap superstar Nicki Minaj returns to the music scene with another hit record titled “Move Ya hips” featuring A$AP Ferg. In pure Minaj fashion, the femcee has created a record that reminds other female rappers that she has not slowed down one bit with a baby on the way. This release comes off of the heels of Minaj’s recent pregnancy announcement with husband Kenneth Petty.
The New York rapper brought it back to her roots by adding fellow New York rapper A$AP Ferg on this track. He not only knocked his verse out of the park, he also brought that New York swagger which pours out in every lyric spewing from his mouth. But Ferg is no the only artist featured on “Move Ya Hips”. Minaj recruited “Uber Everywhere” rapper MadeinTYO who can be heard on the catchy hook. As he begins rapping right after MadeinTYO opens up the song, he sets up the kill for Minaj’s lethal tongue. Per usual she serves up a hefty helping of punchlines, reminding listeners that “all of her b*****s are bad”.
In the visualizer you will see women of all shapes in sizes doing yogo in bright pastel colors. Minaj does a great job of creating a visual that promotes female empowerment, healthy lifestyle and raw beauty. One other dope element is the fact that a telephone number flashes across the screen for fans to text.
If you text the number in the video which is (917) 994-7001, you will get a response from Ferg himself letting you know he received your message, and will soon be prompted to click a link that will add you to his phone so he can respond. Overall this release is one of a kind.
