This past Friday, Lizzo released the collaboration with the Fab Five from Netflix’s popular “Queer Eye” reboot to release new visuals for her “Soulmate” single. Lizzo released “Soulmate” more than a year ago on the ‘Cuz I Love You’ album, which won her two Grammys.
The new animated visual shows Lizzo promoting the message of self-love, which is something she has believed in since the beginning of her rise to fame. In the cartoon clip, she walks down Self Love Lane to show her own journey of reaching that same point.
In the video, she encounters each member of the Netflix series, who then helps her with seeing the true beauty of loving who she is. Style expert Tan France adds looks to her wardrobe, while grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness dances with her and gives her a stylish new hairdo.
In the middle of it all, food expert Antoni Porowski lets her play with corgi puppies.Of course, the message isn’t just about Lizzo. Recently, Lizzo released a TikTok video in June telling body shamers that her ideal body type is the one she already has. Additionally, this new visual with the Fab Five also embraces Pride, which is always celebrated in June, and spreads Lizzo’s consistent messages of positivity to the LGBTQ community.
“True love ain’t something you can buy yourself,” she sings. “True love finally happens when you’re by yourself.”
