What do you get when two of the biggest female artists on the planet collaborate? A hit song! Lady Gaga and Ariana Garande have united for an uplifting track, titled “Rain On Me”, which makes us wonder – what took these two reigning queens so long to make a song together, considering their powerhouse vocals.
The electro/dance-pop bop is sure to brighten your mood, especially during these challenging times.
I didn’t ask for a free ride / I only asked you to show me a real good time / I never asked for the rainfall / At least I showed up, you showed me nothing at all
In an interview with Apple Music‘s Zane Lowe, Lady Gaga revealed that, although the title is a metaphor for tears, it is also for the amount of alcohol she would consume to numb herself. “Rain is the amount of drinking that I was doing to numb myself. I’d rather be dry but at least I’m alive, rain on me,” Gaga said. As for working with Ariana Grande, the singer said “her and I connected right away and she was so wonderful.”
“Rain on Me” will be featured on Lady Gaga’s sixth album, Chromatica, scheduled for release on May 29.
