LOS ANGELES — Roddy Ricch performed live at the Peppermint Club in Hollywood accompanied by the Trap Orchestra. The event, produced by the music streaming app Audiomack, was an experience so grand that they took guests cell phones upon entry. The night was set up to not only witness a unique musical experience but also to honor Ricch for reaching 100 million streams on the platform.
In the orchestra, there were a mesh of violins, keyboards, drum kits, cello and piano that all fused together and pretty much made me forget that I was digesting intense verses and lyrics. Roddy warmed up the crowd with a newer track “Start With Me” featuring Gunna.
With the next track, “ Die Young ”. Roddyy got candid about the passing of his best friend. Stating that when he first got rich he thought everything just goes up from there but then suddenly about 1 and a half months into the fame his best friend passed away. He mentioned that this was a rough time in his career as his felt he had no one to talk to anymore or a bff to celebrate his greatest achievements.
After that tribute, Roddy closed out the show with a piano accompanied version of “ Racks in the Middle ” which was received with a standing ovation. This was Audiomacks first installment of the their Trap Orchestra showcases, so we look forward to seeing who’s up next to perform.
