“Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X Is The Most Certified Song In RIAA History
Lil Nas X is breaking records! The 21-year-old is celebrating a big milestone as his massive hit “Old Town Road” has gone 14x platinum, making it the highest certified song by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
“OLD TOWN ROAD IS OFFICIALLY 14 TIMES PLATINUM! MOST PLATINUMS FOR ANY SONG EVER! LETS GOOO!” he said.
“Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee held the previous record at 13x platinum.
This isn’t the first time “Old Town Road” has made history — the song broke the record for most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. It stayed on top for 19 consecutive weeks and then later got dethroned by Billie Eilish’s “bad guy.”
