[New Music] Doja Cat Samples A 1959 Paul Anka To Drop Off “Freak”

Doja Cat just dropped off a special treat to fans and let’s just say… it’s a little spicy!

As promised, Doja gifted fans with her latest sexcapade single, “Freak” where she gets down and dirty to talk about how she likes to play in the bedroom. Officially delivering on her promise, Doja initially released the track Thursday, August 6th on SoundCloud before officially releasing it across all streaming platforms at the strike of midnight early Friday morning (August 7th).

Believe it or not, “Freak” was originally released over a year ago but didn’t make itself mainstream. This time around, the “Juicy” songstress returns with the revised version. When announcing the single dropping, Doja took to Instagram to say:

“Here’s a special treat ! FREAK will be available on all streaming services tomorrow to hold you guys off while I’m working on a new surprise…”

Unlike the original, Doja’s new single, “Freak” is made up of raunchy lyrics sampling Paul Anka’s 1959 single titled, “Put Your Head On My Shoulder”. Modernizing a throwback, Doja provides a brand new record filled with raunchy lyrics about her bedroom boogie with a production so nostalgic one can’t help but think of poodle skirts, drive up movie theatres and soda shops.

Although in recent weeks the pop star’s online activities have caused questioning and created controversy, her fans continue to remain dedicated to her and rock by her side. At their best, Cancel Culture tried to knock the Hot Pink artist off her pedestal, but instead she returned to prove that she may fall down but never fall off.

MTV recently announced their VMA nominations and celebrating a few nods is none other than Doja Cat. Doja found herself placed in categories including PUSH Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Best Direction. While those results are still pending, give her hot new single a spin and let us know what you think!

Stay tuned as it seems that Doja has more surprises and gifts for her fans!
