Kanye West is doing his part by giving back. The rapper is helping the community amid the coronavirus pandemic by donating meals to The Dream Center in Los Angeles and We Women Empowered in Chicago. Each charity will provide meals to children, families and the elderly affected by the outbreak.
“Today when I got that call, that Kanye West wanted to help the elderly in Chicago and he chose his hometown in the South Side, his old neighborhood, I was beyond words,” said Josephine Wade, owner of We Women Empowered. “And in one phone call, in an instance today, our world was changed.”
The Dream Center CEO Matthew Barnett, had this to say about West’s act of kindness. “Kanye is involved in social causes in his hometown of Chicago, as well as Los Angeles, and wanted to help people out during this challenging time. We are indebted to Kanye for even thinking about us and with his help, we will be able to serve tens of thousands of meals.”
Kanye isn’t the only celebrity helping out during this difficult time as singer Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson have donated one million meals to their local Seattle food bank.
