I’m Good Luv: Shaggy Reveals He Declined Rihanna’s Upcoming Album After Being Told He Needed To Audition

Reggae legend Shaggy recently revealed that he turned down a feature on Rihanna’s upcoming “R9” project after being told he would need to audition for the slot.

Apparently, the 51-year-old felt that an audition was an aspect that younger artists needed to partake in. However, at this point in his career, it was simply something that he has elevated far beyond.

“There’s a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn’t need to audition to be on the record, I’ll leave that to younger guys.” he told Britain’s Daily Star.

“But from what I hear it should be good!” the “It Wasn’t Me” artist added, quickly putting to rest the notion of any hard feelings that may have been taken from his comments.

Rihanna, who is busy ruling the world of cosmetics and lingerie with her Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty lines, has yet to respond to Shaggy’s admission.

While it is safe to say an album is imminent, it’s clearly no priority at the moment.
