Hip-Hop Is Considered The Most Popular Genre In 2020

The industry-standard information and sales-tracking, Nielsen Music, 
has published a mid-year report highlighting the latest 2020 genre. 
Statistics display hip hop as the favorite and most popular genre in America so far.

Among the top ten most commonly known/consumed artists in America, seven are rappers with Drake at No. 1. Drizzy is followed by Lil Uzi Vert at No. 3, YoungBoy Never Broke again at No 5, Eminem at 6, Lil Baby at 7, Roddy Ricch at 9, and DaBaby came in at No 10. Apart from these acts, the other areas are filled with musicians who are clearly inspired by hip hop or close associates with rappers. These include Weeknd (number 2), Post Malone (number 4), and Billie Eilish (number 8).

The top 10 songs based on digital sales and streams are highlighted by Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” At No. 1 Future and Drake’s “Life Is Good” is No. 2. Other tracks on the list may not be rap songs such as Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” (No. 6), as well as DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar” at No. 9. Here’s the official list below.
