[HHW Interview] The Queen Of Rhode Island Remi Jones Talks Her Show “Remi TV” & More With HHW

Introduce yourself to our readers, let them know your name and where you’re from

My name is Remi Jones and I’m from Providence Rhode Island

So you have created your own media brand with Remi TV where you are the Executive Producer and host.  What made you want to get in the media business and create a platform?

Well I bumped into media by accident ..I was always really shy so one day I decided to take a speech class to build my self confidence to be a better me .. once I started to be a social butterfly my sister in law said I had a great personality and that I should be a host on a television show where she worked at I auditioned and became a host and that’s how my journey started.

When did you know that it was actually going to be your career?

I knew this was going to be my career since the first time I did an interview. I loved it so much and I just knew I was meant to be in media

You’ve worked with a few different celebrities such as Mya,  Mobb Deep, Wyclef Jean, Slim of 112, Brandon T. Jackson, and many more! , If you could pick any celebrity in the industry to interview who would it be and why?

If I could pick someone to interview I would choose Janet Jackson. I have been a fan of hers since I was a kid. She is such an amazing artist and an ultimate legend.. my other favorite artist in the entire world is 2 Pac but we all know why that interview can’t happen.

The name of your brand is “Remi TV” explain why you wanted to name it after yourself.

I thought about naming my show after myself because I knew I eventually wanted to have my very own talk show you look at other influential women like  “Oprah“ “Wendy” etc and they all use there names because they have their own shows.

What or who influences your?

My family influences me I was heading down a path at one time of being a product of my own environment. Not finishing school and hanging with low vibrational women who had absolutely nothing going for themselves one day my family sat me down with the usually pep talk and something that they said just clicked and moved my mindset into a positive direction went back to school and earned 2 degrees. That was the happiest day of my life.

Has anyone helped you or guided you in getting your foot in the media industry?

I can say that my sister in law did when she said I had a great personality and that I should audition to be a host. That was how the whole movement began.

You’ve work with legend DJ Kay Slay, what has working with him taught you?

Working with him taught me that I had to have tough skin And to not let anyone take my kindness for weakness. He definitely dropped some gems on me that I will keep with me for the rest of my life.

What differentiates your brand from other brands?

My brand is unique because I don’t participate in the celebrity gossip I only care about the person and there hard working careers. I’m all about positivity and spreading it. I want to give people who feel like they don’t have a voice a voice because I was once that person who didn’t have one.
