Fans could be slightly disappointed or thrilled that the rumors about Travis Scott and Future Verzuz battle are possibly not true.
On Monday evening (January 18), a tweet from an account on Twitter claiming that Timberland’s manager was putting together a hit for hit battle between the two rappers went viral.
The rumors began trending on Twitter as fans weighed in on the conversation about who would win better, Scott and Future. Although Future’s manager, Anthony Saleh, would’ve loved the idea, he made it known that it will not be happening.
Gary Marella, who works closely with Timberland, told Complex that he did his part by clarifying the rumor he heard on Clubhouse.
“Someone mentioned that pairing on Clubhouse along [with] 3-4 other wishlist pairings they would like to see,” he said. “I simply said we would do what we can to make them happen. We’ve had no conversations [with] Travis or Future yet.”
This would be an odd match-up, but the next Verzuz is set for Thursday (January 21) between R&B singers Ashanti and Keyshia Cole. Their battle was delayed twice amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
