There are some things that can only be described as magical and Sunday night in Atlanta was one of those epic nights, where history was made and relationships were restored. Duct Tape Entertainment CEO and “SuperFly” co-star Big Bank Black is one of Atlanta’s most respected and influential executives. The CEO who has a local variety talent show and popular podcast wanted to bring Atlanta together in an enormous way for over a decade. He reached out to Future’s manager, powerhouse female boss, Ebonie Ward and Lil Baby’s manager, Rashad to transform his elusive dream into a reality. Together the trio were able to secure Bank’s longtime friend, Grammy Award winning, hip-hop Mogul, Future and popular rap star, Lil Baby for the show that was appropriately titled “No Place like Home.” The idea of having two of Atlanta’s biggest artists and four labels come together under one roof seemed surreal. Future’s Freebandz record label is home to rising R & B heartthrob, SuperNovaaaa as well as Doe Boy, Lil Wookie, Mayhem and others. Lil Baby recently launched his own label, 4PF. He is signed to Coach K and Pierre Thomas’ Quality Control music which is home to Cardi B, Migos, Lil Yachty and more.
Ebonie and Rashad intensively curated the show for two and a half months. The two managers vigorously worked out every show detail to create an auditory experience that would capture the essence of both artists. More importantly they wanted to create an experience to showcase the journey of two artists who got it out the mud and succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. The sold out Live Nation show was beyond lit and electrifying as fans rapped along to their favorite songs.
Artists Dirty Tay, DT, Bankroll Freddy, Heroin Young, Doe Boy and more performed before Future and Lil Baby took the stage. With so much love, energy and electricity in the air, there was definitely No Place Like Home. Big Bank finally conceptualized his dream for Atlanta through the unforgettable concert and a night to remember forever
.”We really made history and showed the world what it looks like when everybody comes together. There is so much to be created with all the talent we have in just this city. By us collectively working together we can really make an imprint all over the world and economically elevate local businesses and homegrown companies right here in Atlanta. Stay tuned because I have more surprises on the way for 2020.” –Big Bank
