Chicago Author and Recording Artist Philospha Shares New Single “Iffy”

I am focused on helping anyone that ever felt like they could not succeed. I am here to say you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to.

Westside Chicago recording artist Philospha (Darrius Peterson) is a man of many talents. Finding his love for music and beginning to write it at the tender age of nine, Philospha has been dedicated to his craft for well over a decade.

Versatile to say the least, Philospha attended school for performing arts in Southside Chicago and went on to secure background acting roles on Empire (Season 6), The Chi (Season 3) and Utopia (Season 1). Though skilled and well-versed in music and theatre, life has a funny way of sending it’s obstacles to distract and throw us off track. This was definitely the case when Philospha sufferd the loss of his mother to breast cancer, brother to gun violence and his daughter at just 4 months old. With the toughest of them all being his near fatal car accident in November of 2020.

Philospha suffered a severe brain injury, broke six teeth, his bottom jaw and was told he would not walk or talk for six months to a year. However, resilience and a will to succeed has kept him positive and pushing forward; working on his craft daily.

My life has been a journey to say the least. As I recover from this car crash, I focus on seeing the end result as fully recovered. The brain is an amazing place. They say I may be faced with certain problems for life but I give it no energy. I believe you have to visualize the things we want to accomplish and through belief it will manifest. I’m fighting for my complete return to health.

Inspired by his own life adversities, Philospha speaks life into his music and as a result, creates relatable content. His latest single “Iffy” based on everyday life and the indecisiveness we’ve all experienced when faced with challenges.

Aside from music and acting, this emerging artist is also a published author. His first release See It Believe It Become It will be available on Amazon February 5, 2021 and is currently available for preorder.
