Cash Money Records was originally said to be in talks with Apple to produce it’s long awaited documentary. However, it looks like Spotify came with a better offer because the legendary hip-hop label is bringing it’s four part “New Cash Order” to the streaming giant this Friday.
The documentary will take fans on a journey through the humble beginnings of Cash Money founders Birdman and Slim during their upbringing in the New Orleans Magnolia Housing Projects before giving a candid glimpse into their rise as owners of one of the most notable hip-hop record labels in history. The series will document the success of some of their most famous acts such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and the legendary, Hot Boys.
Fans will also get familiar with the evolution of Cash Money from the unveiling of their new logo to learning more about its newer acts such as R&B crooner Jacquees.
The limited series will be available exclusively on Spotify Friday, February 21st. Check out the first look below.
