Introduce yourself to our readers, let them know your name, where you’re from & the project you’re about to drop .
Struggle Mike, Buffalo New York. Well I’m from the South Side of Buffalo. The project I’m about to drop is called Da Wall on June 26th . It’s the second Mix tape I’ve executively produced
So I know you grew up on the South Side of Buffalo .How did you get the name Struggle Mike?
Actually when Benny the Butcher came around , he just started calling me Struggle Mike. The name just sort of stuck & everyone in my hometown just knows me now as Struggle Mike. That’s funny because I don’t really know why he gave me that name.
So Mike, in Buffalo you’re known for more than just being a music producer and clothing designer. You’re all things business, an entrepreneur in the hip hop game. They even call you MOGUL MIKE around Buffalo. Tell the readers besides music and clothes, what else do you do that earned you the nick name Mogul Mike.
Well I executively produce and create mixtapes and oversee the projects. This is my second album. But I own my Storefront The Struggle Clothing & Recording Studio located on Seneca Ave in my hometown of buffalo which is where I sell my exclusive line, Struggle716 clothing. After I opened up the clothing store, I met Buffalo legend Speedie the Icon and we became cool. One day we just decided on a whim to use the additional space in the store for a fully functioning music production studio so that same day we went to Guitar Center & just blew up from there. I rent the studio to artists who want to make music but we also use and rent it for music video & film production and for private events like listening parties & album release parties. Then I added the barber shop to the store so it’s a 3 in 1. It’s kind of like a one stop shop culture shop for All things Hip Hop. Oh and I belong to the Nokturnal Car Club which is a worldwide custom low rider car club. When artists are looking for rides for videos & film I rent my collection of cars. I also executively produce and direct music videos. I guess I do a bunch of different things. A little A& R work too.
Speedie Da Icon Quote On Struggle Mike- “The best way to explain Mike is that he grew up in the hood life, like Ghetto shit that people wouldn’t expect a white person to live. Ya know, Mikes one of us He grew up doing the same shit that we did so he gets the struggle. You can tell from the clothing line if you dig it. Perception is everything . But Mike, ya know, he is a real one. What he does for the culture. Buffalo is real small to begin with. Mike and me are similar in a lot of ways. Sometimes I will do things that may not be ideal for me and my situation but will be ideal to help my people, the people around me ya know. Like, Brick Boys. It consists mostly of my family members, my little cousins and stuff who watched me do music. My reason for doing this, my investment is just like Mike’s. The reason I put Brick Boys together is because I want to change mine and their situation. Everything Struggle Mike does , all his moves are to see the people around him win”
Mike, It seems like you makes a lot of his moves not just to grow your brand but because you really put your heart in it.
Mike: Yeah. Always
So you’ve just returned from LA & wrapped up filming a music video for your upcoming project “Da Wall”. This mixtape has a feel of both the East and West Coast Vibes of Hip Hop. You created & executively produced this album yourself. Can you tell us some of the artists and producers you chose to put on this mixtape?
Well I executively produce this Mixtape. But my Boy Tony Deniro had a lot to do with producing as well. City Boy too. They are like my Go to guys, my right hands. But on this album I have a bunch of different Producers and artists, Fred Da Godson for one – may he Rest In Peace . I’ve got Benny The Butcher, Ricky Hyde, ETO, Duffle Bag Hottie, Smoke Bulga, Boons, Che Noir, 80 Empire, RJ Payne, SpiderdaGod, Madhattan Mayor, G Mims, Vino, Heem, Mars, Breed Mafia, Huskigpin, Ray Swoope, Perm Lee, Ace Roc, Blaze Merch and Brick Boys. The beats I used are by 4 Limbs, Ricky Hyde, Eken, RoarX, Trips and DVDLEXR.
Actually RoarX The Producer played a big part in producing. He produced “Coming for You”& “Shoot Outs” which I’m actually going to be in NYC for to film and produce the music video during the last week of June. On my albums I pick out the beats, line up the producers, then I pick out the artists and put them together. That’s my creation process. Whatever I do I always bring my guys with me, I also do a little A&R work with artists. Oh Yeah and I have a book coming out too. An autobiography called “The Struggle”. Everything will always be The Struggle, even when there isn’t one.
You’re also the owner and creator of Struggle716 clothing, A Clothing Brand that launches in a 4 part series. We are only on part 2 of the series. Tell the readers the concept behind of the line?
I designed the concept of Struggle716 clothing based upon the idea that families who live in Low income areas are put into this kind of a cycle to continue to live that way. In Part 2 of the launch, the bear, who represents the people in low income areas is making money and starts working on the west coast while stuff starts to get to close and end with the pyrex, which represents the government.. He is lifting his shirt showing off that he is CIA.. Part 3 and 4 are really dope. You’ll have to wait to see what happens with the Bear in 3 and 4
Who are your TOP 5 Artists of ALL Time. Dead or Alive?

2. Benny The Butcher

4. Ice Cube
Reasonable Doubt is my most Favorite Album of All Time….
