Big Sean announced on March 25th, which so happened to be his 32nd birthday, that his fifth album, Detroit 2 is on it’s way.
The Detroit rapper didn’t stop there. He also released a trailer for the upcoming project, where he dives into what inspired him while creating it and much more. He also used the trailer to give fans a few previews of unreleased music, as well as a glimpse of him in the studio with fellow chartoppers such as Hit-Boy, Young Thug and Ty Dolla Sign.
Big Sean shared many details except for the most pressing, which is when the project will actually drop.
The G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Detroit 2 serves as the sequel to the original mixtape that Sean released in 2012.
Back in January, fellow Def Jam act YK Osiris posted a photo on Instagram of a whiteboard which seemingly hinted at Sean’s forthcoming album featuring Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Young Thug, Future and Lizzo. However, reps for Sean dispelled the rumors.
For now, we will just have to wait and see what else the Detroit heavyweight has in store for 2020.
